SENIOR APPAREL DESIGNER & PRODUCT DEVELOPER

REMOTE AND/OR HYBRID, U.S. BASED

PART TIME

We're looking for an experienced Senior Apparel Designer & Product Developer to help lead The Nitro Bar's growing merchandise program. Yay!

Working closely with our Director of Marketing and Creative Director. Our goal is for you to take  high-level creative direction and turn it into thoughtful, production-ready collections.

This is both a creative design and product development role. We're looking for someone who can develop the actual designs that live on the product: from original graphics, illustrations, typography, logos, embroidery concepts, colorways, and placements to the garments themselves.

You'll also own the product development process from concept through production, working directly with manufacturers and vendors to bring each collection to life. We're looking for someone who understands each step of apparel development, from developing original artwork and designing garments to sourcing fabrics, building tech packs, managing samples, overseeing production, and maintaining factory relationships.

Our merchandise program has become a major part of our brand, and we're excited to continue pushing it forward with someone who has a strong creative point of view and the technical experience to actually bring those ideas to life.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of experience in apparel design, graphic design for apparel, and/or product development

  • A strong portfolio of original apparel graphics and merchandise design

  • Ability to create original graphics, illustrations, typography, embroidery, prints, and garment artwork

  • A strong visual point of view and an understanding of fashion, streetwear, vintage references, and contemporary merch

  • Ability to take high level creative direction and develop it into original design concepts

  • Extensive experience with custom cut-and-sew production

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Experience creating production-ready artwork and tech packs

  • An established network of manufacturers, textile suppliers, and production partners

  • Experience managing apparel production from initial concept through final delivery

  • Strong communication and project management skills with the ability to work independently

  • A passion for creating elevated merchandise that people genuinely want to own and wear

This is a part-time contract role with the opportunity to grow alongside our merchandise program as it continues to evolve.

To apply, please email a short cover letter, resume, and portfolio to maggiezhang@thenitrocart.com with the subject line Senior Apparel Designer & Product Developer.

For your portfolio, we'd love to see examples of apparel graphics, original artwork, cut and sew pieces, and merchandise collections you've personally designed.
